SCENES FROM MOVIE TO BE SHOT AT WINDHAM HOSPITAL
PRODUCTION BEGINS ON CHILLER’S ORIGINAL MOVIE
"DEAD SOULS"

WILLIMANTIC – Scenes from an upcoming science fiction movie that will premier on Chiller (a division of NBCUniversal) will be shot at Windham Hospital on Saturday, April 21. The all-day shoot stars Jesse James (Fear of the Dark, The Flyboys, Amityville Horror), Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Devil's Rejects, House of 1,000 Corpses), Magda Apanowicz (The Butterfly Effect), Jaiden Kaine (Hellbenders) and Geraldine Hughes (Rocky Balboa, Gran Torino). Production for the all-new original movie, entitled Dead Souls, commenced in Canterbury, Connecticut and is slated to premiere in October 2012 on Chiller.

Heather Tindall, spokesperson for Windham Hospital said that when Chiller approached the hospital about filming, the hospital was open to the possibility as long as patient safety was not compromised in any way. “We were able to accommodate Chiller’s needs on a weekend when traffic flow is relatively light at the hospital and in an area of the hospital not being utilized by patients or staff during the shoot.” She said that once those concerns were addressed, it was an easy decision to support the filming. “Connecticut has done a truly fantastic job of making Connecticut a very desirable location for filmmakers and production companies to produce films,” Tindall said. “These films and the crews and actors that come with them spend dollars in a community during a film shoot and that is such a welcome boost for the economy, especially in smaller towns like Willimantic.”

The storyline for Dead Souls On his 18th birthday, Johnny Petrie (James) learns he was adopted when he inherits a farm in Maine, abandoned for the 18 years since his natural family died at the hands of his father, the local preacher. In a frightening revelation, he also learns that his return has revived decades-old forces trapped in the home and sets in motion a heart-stopping finale to a ritual that already claimed the lives of his family. Dead Souls is adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker Award Finalist Michael Laimo.
