Windham Hospital Welcomes Dr. William Kaufold
Dr. William Kaufold finds nothing more rewarding than helping those in need. Before earning his doctoral degree, Dr. Kaufold worked with the Los Angeles County Health Department in the Injury Prevention division. There, he learned the importance of preventive care and was drawn to the individual patient relationship that being a physician allowed.
Dr. Kaufold earned his doctorate degree from the Loma Linda University in Southern California. From there he moved to Columbia, Missouri and completed a three-year residency in Ophthalmology at the Mason Eye Institute at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Kaufold is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. Areas of interest for Dr. Kaufold include cataract surgery, including premium intraocular implants, glaucoma and diabetic care, Dr. Kaufold comments, “I am very excited to be joining a quality institution that provides outstanding care to the people of Eastern Connecticut.”
Dr. Kaufold will be joining and accepting new patients at the Windham Eye Group, PC. He will be joining Dr. Patricia Caton-Reardon and Dr. Dana Woods. Dr. Reardon comments, “Dr. Kaufold is caring, skillful, extremely well-trained and superbly competent. He will be a phenomenal addition to Windham Eye Group and the Windham Hospital medical staff.”
Hailing from the Midwest, Dr. Kaufold and his family are excited to discover the beauty of Connecticut, “We are looking forward to having beaches and mountains so close again, and being able to explore hiking trails, rivers, and the countryside on day-trips and weekends.”
