Energy Medicine to be Topic at Free Integrative Health Lecture
WILLIMANTIC, CT – April 10, 2009 – The Integrative Health Steering Committee at Windham Hospital hosts “For the Health of It,” a Wednesday evening lecture series, each month. The next event, slated for April 29th, is entitled Energy Medicine, and is presented by Dorothy A. Martin-Neville, President and Founder of The Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences. This session offers an overview of the field of energy medicine with specific focus on the W.I.S.E. Method™ of energy medicine, developed by our presenter, Dr. Dorothy Martin-Neville, including a comparison to other energy modalities, such as Acupuncture and Acupressure, Bioenergetics, Homeopathy, Kinesiology, Oriental Medicine, Polarity Therapy, and Reiki. It will support a greater understanding of these modalities for both professionals and anyone wanting to learn more about the different types of energy medicine available.
Dorothy comments, “Every thought, feeling, and emotion you have ever had is an energetic reality that has either passed through or been held within your body. Knowing how you hold your energy, and why, and how to change any patterns that do not support you, can create greater health and healing allowing the opportunity to live your life more fully and passionately.” She adds that one or two energy readings will be provided during the lecture, time permitting.
The Lecture Series is a service of the Integrative Health Service at Windham Hospital. Other lectures in the 2009 series will include Meditation, the Lebed Method of Healing, The Holistic Approach to Health and Disease, Massage Cupping, and Living the Holidays with Meaning and Wellness.
In addition to the Lecture Series, Integrative Health Services offers therapeutic massage, Reiki, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, nutritional counseling, and the free Community Health Resource Room at Windham Hospital. Gift certificates for yoga, massage, Reiki, and acupuncture are available at the Hospital gift shop, and additional information is available on the Hospital website at www.windhamhospital.org.
