FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Windham Hospital offers assistance to eligible patients and/or families who qualify under the Federal/State Poverty guidelines (See Guidelines, English and Spanish). Patients whose income does not exceed 250% of the Federal Poverty level will be considered eligible for Financial Assistance. The Financial Counseling office is located on the first floor of the Greer Wing and will assist you in the application process.

Patients who qualify for Medicaid/Husky/Charter Oak Plans can receive assistance in completing the application with a Financial Counselor. Arrange an appointment by calling them directly at 456.6706 or 456.6109.

Patients who are interested in arranging a Budget Agreement (at least $50 per month) on an account or to pay off a balance (using credit cards, debit cards or cash) may contact the hospital at 860-696-3100 and speak with a Financial Counselor or Customer Service staff for assistance.

BILLING CUSTOMER SERVICE
You can receive a copy of your itemized bill by calling 860.696.3100 and providing validation of your legal name, address, date of service, and account number (provided on your statement). Questions, updated insurance information, problems or concerns regarding your billing statement can be directed to our Customer Service staff Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM at 860.696.3100. All messages are returned within 24 hours and itemized bills are mailed to your home address the following day.

Billing Information
Windham Hospital participates with most insurance and managed care plans in Connecticut; however, participation may vary by product and is subject to change. Authorizations and referrals may be required by your insurance carrier. As a courtesy to our patients, Windham Hospital will submit bills to your insurance based on the information provided by you at the time of admission. We make attempts to verify your coverage prior to claim submission At times, it may be necessary for you to contact your insurance company to supply additional information to them for claims processing and we ask for your cooperation if that is necessary. You should remember that your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you have the final responsibility for payment.
