Windham Hospital benefits from Gates GMC Nissan promotion
WILLIMANTIC, CT, May 19, 2010 – Denny Gates, General Manager, presented a check for $2,750 to Mona Friedland, Executive Director of the Windham Hospital Foundation; the results of a five week promotion sponsored by Gates GMC Nissan in North Windham. For every new car or truck that Gates GMC Nissan sold from February 22 through March 31, the dealership donated $100 to Windham Hospital. “This was a great way to get our staff involved in supporting the community, “said Gates. “ Windham Hospital has assisted many of our customers and their families and we are fortunate to be in a position to contribute to such a fine organization.”
Gates revealed that he has been influenced in his leadership style by his Dad, Craig Gates. Craig has been in business in the Willimantic area since 1986 and believes strongly that businesses need to help local non-profit organizations. The dealership has been involved in numerous fundraising activities, including support for the Make a Wish Foundation.
“We know that people like doing business with organizations that support the community,” noted Friedland. “This sets a great example for others and we are grateful to the Gates family for this generous contribution to Windham Hospital.”
