FREE PRESENTATION AT WINDHAM HOSPITAL TO DISCUSS SLIPS AND FALLS AND HOW TO PREVENT THEM
Windham Hospital is presenting an informative, interactive seminar that will instruct attendees how to prevent falls and improve balance. Slips and Falls …How to Prevent Them, will be presented at the Beckish Senior Center, 188 Route 66 in Columbia on Thursday, April 21, from 9 - 10 a.m. The program is part of the Coffee & Conversation series and is free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
The seminar will be presented by Brian Cawley, PT, MBA and Jeannette Rohan, PT, who are part of the team at Windham Hospital Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation. As people age, a variety of factors can lead to falls and that can be devastating to an individual’s independence. The seminar will teach participants a variety of exercises which participants can perform on site while asking questions of the physical therapists. Simple props such as a balance ball and straps will be utilized to teach the exercises. Many of the exercises can also be done sitting in a chair.
