The Auxiliary to Windham Hospital will present “The Shaboo Blues Festival” on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Jillson Square in Willimantic. The concert is a benefit for a new out-patient and oncology suite in the Ambulatory Care Unit at Windham Hospital. Sponsored in part by the Lester E. & Phyllis M. Foster Foundation, the event will feature Elvin Bishop and James Cotton along with David Foster & the Mohegan Sun All-Stars (formerly the Shaboo All-Stars), and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the opening of the legendary Shaboo Inn.
Advance sale tickets are $25 and $30 at the gate; children 12 and under will be admitted without charge. Gates open at 4:00 pm, and the concert begins at 5:00 pm. Lawn chairs and blankets are permitted but no food, beverages or coolers will be allowed. There will be concession stands for food and beverages on site. VIP tickets are also available for $100 per person. VIP tickets include reserved parking, reserved seating under a tent (with a great view of the stage), a gourmet dinner, drinks, and meeting the performers. Part of the cost of the VIP ticket is tax deductible.
