Windham Hospital to Host New TV Show
WILLIMANTIC, CT, January 14, 2009 – Windham Community Memorial Hospital will be hosting its own show on Charter Cable CTV-14. The show entitled, healthLINK, is designed to inform and educate the community about how to stay healthy and the latest healthcare advancements. Windham Hospital is committed to providing quality healthcare and each month new topics will be filmed at Charter studios highlighting the services and programs provided by the hospital, physicians and healthcare professionals.
The first show will air on Friday January 23 and 30, 2009 at 5 p.m. on Channel 14. It discusses the newest technique for breast cancer screening, digital mammography, now available at Windham Hospital. Guests include Dr. Ethan Foxman, Chief of Radiology at Windham Hospital, Dr. Frank Siracusa, Surgical Associates of Windham and Beth Cheney, APRN, Women’s Health Coordinator.
The second show will air on February 6 and 13 also at 5 p.m. and is an in-depth and informative look at cervical cancer detection and screening. Guests include Dr. Molly Brewer, Gynecologist, John Dempsey Health Center, Dr.Yvette Martas, Mansfield OB/GYN Associates, and Carol Palonen, Women’s Health Services.
Larry Ross, owner/broker of ERA Covenant Real Estate Group, Inc. will serve as host of the healthLINK series. Ross has a long affiliation with Windham Hospital and comments “I am very pleased to help the Hospital highlight new and important services that will ensure better, faster, and safer results for members of the community.” Ross is not new to television programming, as he was the host of “Who’s Cooking, What’s Happening.” President and CEO, Dick Brvenik adds, “We are excited about this opportunity to provide a public service and to showcase the many wonderful people and services at Windham Hospital.
