Valet Parking Returns to Windham Hospital
Windham Hospital is now offering a free Valet Parking service at the Hospital’s Atrium entrance. Hospital visitors simply pull into the Shea Circle, where a uniformed attendant greets them, assists them to the door if needed, and then parks the car for them—making their visit to the Hospital just a little easier. Although making its debut in the midst of construction and winter weather, the service will continue throughout the year, and is implemented in response to feedback received from patients and visitors about the need for more convenient parking.
Announcing the new service, Cary Trantalis, Vice President of Operations for Windham Hospital, says the new service is part of the Hospital’s commitment to excellence and extraordinary service to patients from the moment they enter Hospital’s doors. “The hilly nature of our campus is sometimes difficult for people to navigate—whether they are walking with a cane or crutches, in a wheelchair, feeling the effects of treatment, or simply pushing a baby stroller—the hillside and staircases can be challenging even in warm weather. Cold weather, snow and ice, or construction further complicate the situation. This service offers curbside access to the Hospital, and eliminates the need to maneuver through the parking lots.” The pilot program--staffed by Valet Park of America--offers valet service at the Atrium/Shea entrance, with the potential for additional entrance coverage in the future.
Once inside the Hospital, volunteers are available to assist in way-finding or other needs.
Trantalis commented that “although staff members from many departments had suggested initiating a valet service, it was the Security Team at Windham that ultimately stepped forward to research needs and traffic patterns, analyze the service options, and create the proposal that outlines the location and hours of operation. And it all focuses on just one thing: better service for our hospital patients and visitors. That’s the bottom line.”
Valet parking is available Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM at the Atrium/Shea entrance. There is no charge for the service.
