Windham Hospital Adds New Family Physician to Roster
WILLIMANTIC, CT, May 23, 2008 – Katarzyna Pomianowski, M.D., has been approved as a member of the medical staff at Windham Hospital, and has joined Dr. Kristin Gildersleeve in the offices of Hebron Family Practice, Main Street, Hebron. Dr. Pomianowski is board-certified in family medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American Medical Women’s Association. Her personal interests include horseback riding, travel and hiking.
Dr. Pomianowski received her medical degree from the Akademia Medyczna K. Marcinkowskiego in Pozan, Poland, and followed that degree with a Master of Public Health from the Boston University School of Public Health. She completed a residency in Family and Community Medicine at Hershey Medical Center’s Good Samaritan Hospital in 2004, and a fellowship in Academic and Clinical Research, Family Medicine at Boston University between 2004 and 2006. Prior to her arrival at Windham Hospital, she was an attending physician at the Duncannon Family Health Center in Pennsylvania, and also served as a clinical instructor for the Boston University Department of Family Medicine. She has authored several presentations and publications, on topics ranging from Olympic athlete weight management, to diabetic patients, physician management of angry patients, and pre-term births in high-risk pregnancies.
Dr. Pomianowski says she is “delighted to be in eastern Connecticut—it’s such a beautiful part of the state” and is “looking forward to meeting members of the community.” She began seeing patients in Hebron on May 1st, and is accepting new patients; she may be reached at Hebron Family Practice, 228-1119.
