Free Integrative Health Series Starts the Year at Windham Hospital with a Focus on Meditation
WILLIMANTIC, CT – January 18, 2010 – The Integrative Health Steering Committee at Windham Hospital hosts “For the Health of It,” a Wednesday evening lecture series, each month. The next event, slated for January 27th at 7 pm, is entitled “Creating Healthy Habits: A Workshop with Movement and Meditation” and will be presented by Clare Vidich, in the Hospital’s Education Center.
Presented in workshop format, the evening will focus on creating personal changes, and will offer specific tools for getting out of personal ruts and developing healthier habits for body, mind and spirit.
Clare Vidich, director of Kirpal Meditation Center, offers meditation classes in adult education, college, high schools & preschools. Clare spoke at the Global Conference on Mysticism in 2007 and 2009 in Delhi, India, and throughout her career, has lectured internationally on the topics of meditation and spirituality. She has been meditating for over 30 years, and serves on the Integrative Health Services Committee at Windham Hospital. She is also a Montessori teacher who writes spiritual curriculum for schools in India and Europe.
The Lecture Series is a service of the Integrative Health Service at Windham Hospital. Future topics will include: Introduction to Meridian Tapping Techniques & EFT; Integrated Medicine and Reducing Health Care Costs; Local Farms, Local Food; Cultivating Your Spirituality for Health; Massage Cupping; The Wellness Aspect of Feng Shui; An Overview of Holistic Psychotherapy and Life Force Yoga for Mental Health; and Reiki for Self Healing. In addition to the Lecture Series, Integrative Health Services offers therapeutic massage, Reiki, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, nutritional counseling, and the free Community Health Resource Room at Windham Hospital.
