Free Integrative Health Lecture Series Continues at Windham Hospital
The Integrative Health Steering Committee at Windham Hospital hosts “For the Health of It,” a Wednesday evening lecture series, each month. The next event, slated for February 24th is entitled, “An Introduction to Meridian Tapping (EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique)” will be presented by Rebecca Gurland. The event will take place at 7 PM in the Windham Hospital Education Center.Ms. Gurland says, “The evening will focus on using acupressure meridian tapping technique to awaken our inner healers. By gentle tapping on a few points on the face and hands, our fingers can clear the pathways to dispel fears and block pain. This simple-to-learn technique has helped to alleviate problems and anxieties as it gently realigns the body’s energy system. At its simplest, it is a self- administered relaxation method that supports and aids any other healing/medical procedures. Learning to use tapping gives us another tool in the pursuit of relaxation and stress relief. “
Since 1989, Rebecca Gurland has managed Champlion’s Natural Food Store in Storrs. She teaches natural food cooking, energy medicine, dowsing/kinesiology, vision training and energy psychology (tapping techniques) in classes, workshops and individual sessions.
The Lecture Series is a service of the Integrative Health Service at Windham Hospital. Future topics will include: Integrative Medicine and Reducing Health Care Costs; Local Farms, Local Food; Cultivating Your Spirituality for Health; Massage Cupping; The Wellness Aspect of Feng Shui; An Overview of Holistic Psychotherapy and Life Force Yoga for Mental Health; and Reiki for Self Healing. In addition to the Lecture Series, Integrative Health Services offers therapeutic massage, Reiki, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, nutritional counseling, and the free Community Health Resource Room at Windham Hospital.
