Position Description:
NRA Serv-Safe Certification & Culinary Arts training graduate preferred. At least 5 years of varied cooking experience and/or 3 years of cooking in an institutional setting. Responsibilities will change with each day’s menu, assignment and production schedule but primarily responsible for Lunch and Dinner short order and patient tray-line. Must also be involved in cooking for catered hospital functions. Baseline expectation of familiarity with HAACP guidelines and safe use of all kitchen utensils and equipment. Must be proficient in reading and following detailed instructions on Daily Production Sheets and Recipes. The job will require individual to be standing and walking most of the day with an amount of bending, lifting and reaching that is usual for a high volume, multiple-menu kitchen. After an initial training period not to exceed two-three weeks, will be expected to exercise good judgment and personal initiative in the preparation of foods and in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
