Position Title:
Polysomnographer
Department:
Sleep Laboratory
Position Description:
The Sleep Lab Technician shall be responsible for equipment calibration and maintenance, patient set-up and all night monitoring of sleep studies. Background and skills in CPAP/BIPAP Titration and in troubleshooting are essential, along with computerized systems to analyze and score sleep records. Though record keeping of lab documents and patient charge generation essential. Physician consultation and patient follow-up contact necessary. At least one year experience performing diagnostic sleep studies. Completion of a formal training program in polysomnography. Registry in polysomnography technology desirable but not essential. Credentialing by a nationally recognized agency relevant to sleep medicine desirable. Current licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner or trained Polysomnographer preferred. Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with current CPR certification is required.
